Silver Storm Ships First Concentrate from La Parrilla

Silver Storm Mining has dispatched its first commercial shipment of lead-silver and zinc concentrates from the La Parrilla mine in Mexico, marking the complex’s official return to production after a period in care and maintenance. The initial batch of ore processed through La Parrilla’s sulphide circuit yielded 105 dry metric tons of lead-silver concentrate and 70 dry metric tons of zinc concentrate, which have been delivered to a tier-one buyer under a binding offtake agreement tied to a US$7 million prepayment financing deal secured last October. That capital injection bankrolled the final stages of restarting the Durango State facility and provided the upfront liquidity needed to pull the past-producing asset back online.

President and CEO Greg McKenzie called the first shipment a defining milestone for the company, noting that real, saleable product is now moving to market through the offtake partnership with a globally recognized buyer. He credited his team’s hard work for transforming La Parrilla from an idle property into a revenue-generating operation and said Silver Storm is now positioned to continue shipping concentrates on an ongoing basis.

With the inaugural delivery complete, management is actively increasing processing rates through the sulphide circuit. The operational target is to ramp throughput up to the facility’s nameplate capacity of 1,250 tons per day over the coming weeks to sustain regular commercial deliveries going forward.

The shipment caps a redevelopment effort that accelerated early this year when Silver Storm moved to secure reliable ore feed by launching a 6,000-meter underground drilling campaign in January. That program focused on step-out and infill drilling across three specific deposits within the broader complex — Quebradillas, San Marcos, and Rosarios — aimed at expanding the indicated and inferred resource base supporting the current mine plan. The company has also identified seven distinct target areas across its La Parrilla concessions, with surface exploration programs slated to begin later in 2026.
